Benjamin Russell (born August 13, 1995), better known by his stage name Stormriver, is an English singer-songwriter. Stormriver began recording songs and posting them to his Tumblr at age 16 and signed his first recording contract when he was 19 years old with 8 Point Records, releasing his first digital album Storm River a.k.a. Ben Russell in January 2015. Stormriver bought himself out of the contract in April 2015 and signed a joint contract with Interscope, Polydor, and Stranger Records in October 2016. The singer has described himself as a "self-styled gangsta Lana Del Rey."
